Mr. Kaan Başkurt assumed his duties as the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Guangzhou on 15 August 2023.
He graduated from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Türkiye in 2002 and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye the following year. Throughout his career, he served at Turkish diplomatic missions in Riyadh, Milan, Seoul, Tokyo and Kyiv.
Most recently he was the Deputy Head of Mission and First Counsellor at Turkish Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine from November 2021 until August 2023.
He is married, speaks English and Italian.
